How this works
- Signed-in Matey users log their visa (417 or 462, first, second or third), passport country, whether they applied in Australia or from overseas, the date they applied and later the date it was granted.
- Wait = days from the application date to the grant date. We show the median (the middle value), so one very slow or very fast case does not drag the number around.
- Only applications from the last 18 months are counted, so the numbers stay current.
- We never show individual reports or who posted them, only totals and medians.
Questions
Is this the official processing time?
No. These are dates reported by Matey users. Home Affairs publishes its own global processing times, which is the page to check for the official figure.
Why did my friend get their visa faster than me?
Home Affairs says processing times vary with individual circumstances, for example whether the application was complete, how quickly requests for more information were answered, and health, character or other checks. The crowd median cannot tell you what is happening with one application.
What date counts as applied?
The date you lodged the application in ImmiAccount. The grant date is the date on your grant letter.
Can I change or delete my report?
Yes. In Matey, open the Visa and rules desk and edit or delete your report at any time. You can keep one report per visa.
