Casual farm hand labourers

Our tomato farm is looking for seasonal farm hand workers, for our 2027 tomato season which begins mid-late February and ends in October.

Job location Bowen 10 x casual farm hand positions available Start date approximately 15/02/27 for 9 months

Position details: The farm hand role involves a range of general farm duties to support the cultivation and maintenance of tomato crops. Responsibilities include planting seedlings, staking and tying plants, pruning, weeding, and assisting with general farm maintenance. Also responsible for using basic farm tools and equipment safely and carrying out manual labour, while following workplace health and safety procedures.

The role requires physical fitness, reliability, the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. This work is outdoors where weather conditions play a big part as our region experiences a diverse climate with distinct wet and dry seasons.

As this is a seasonal role and largely depends on mother nature and the weather, hours and days of work vary depending on the crop. This is a casual role with casual hours paid according to the Horticultural Award…
